 What are inclusive schools?

Schools are the hearts of communities. Inclusive schools result in communities where individuals are grounded in a strong sense of themselves, as well as their history and culture, which better prepares them to work with others across lines of difference. Chicago United for Equity believes that inclusive schools are places where a community comes together, building space for all identities to be valued and shared.

We also believe that strong school communities set the tone for more just and inclusive policies -- in education, housing, and economic development.

are you working to build a more inclusive school?

At CUE, we believe that those closest to problems are best equipped to find their solutions. We work with school administrators and Local School Council members who are working to promote just, equitable, and inclusive practices in their schools.
